Pictured in the jar, you will see a letter and a number indicating the expiration of that product (e.g., 3M, 4M, 6M, 12M), meaning 3 months, 4 months, etc. from opening the product until it has reached the end of its lifespan. Also, if your makeup smells like crayons, it's time to throw it out!
